tempAP353195049699_3--nfl_mezz_1280_1024The Seattle Seahawks are the first team to secure a spot in this year’s playoffs.  If they win today, they will secure the NFC West division title.  The San Francisco 49ers look to play January football as well.  It looks like the only way that will happen is if they win a Wild Card spot.  The 49ers also look for revenge against a team that has blown them out their last two meetings.  The Seahawks are no joke, however, coming off a routing of the New Orleans Saints on Monday night.

Many thought that with the absence of Brandon Browner and Walter Thurmond, the Seahawks would be vulnerable in the secondary, but they showed that was not the case.  The 49ers have gotten their big offensive weapon Michael Crabtree back which should help help make this game more competitive.  Colin Kaepernick was sacked three times during these teams matchup earlier this season and will be without his left tackle.  Joe Staley will miss today’s game with an ankle injury, and Mike Iupati could miss his third straight game with a lower leg injury.  Seahawks receiver Percy Harvin will also miss the game which has not slowed Seattle’s offense down one bit.

Despite this game being away from Seattle, I still see the Seahawks winning this game.  They are in a groove right now that not even Drew Brees could break.  Their defense is playing well and Russell Wilson is making plays happen.  If it were not for Peyton Manning, Wilson could be considered an MVP candidate. Seahawks vs. 49ers- who you takin?
