9067013-standardRussell Wilson has no idea what a home loss in the NFL feels like because the Seahawks have never lost a home game in his young career.  Tonight, the New Orleans Saints look to show Wilson just how it feels, especially a game with major playoff implications.  The winner of tonight’s game will likely be the number one seed in the NFC playoffs.

The Saints come in at a very bad timing for Seattle’s defense.  With Brandon Browner out with a groin injury and now a possible suspension and Walter Thurmond out four games for a drug suspension, the Seahawks’ secondary is very vulnerable.  The Seattle defense owns the top spot in the NFL for takeaways with 26.  Being down two top guys and having to cover guys like Jimmy Graham and  Marques Colston could be a long day for Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas.

The Saints will have to stop the dual running threat of Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson.  Wide receiver Percy Harvin is listed as doubtful for this game, but they have won games without him all season so it is not too concerning.  If they can get Harvin healthy in time for the playoffs, it could easily be Seattle playing in New Jersey.

Both of these teams are in very similar spots.  Both have teams in their division that are keeping pace with them; the San Francisco 49ers and the Carolina Panthers both own the two wild card spots.  They are undefeated at home which makes me lean towards Seattle to win tonight. The Saints are really good, but on the road, they are much more beatable.  Having the 12th Man really helps the Seahawks and tonight they will make the difference.  Similar to the game against the Jets, Drew Brees and the offense will have to call time outs when they do not want to and get penalties for delay of game in crucial spots.  Seahawks vs. Saints- who you takin?
