The St. Louis Blues have defeated the Dallas Stars in an exciting 7-game series and earned their place in the Western Conference Final for the first time in 15 years. This time, the team is ready to put their best play forward to take home the ultimate goal, the Stanley Cup.  The Blues finished the season second in the Central Division with 107 points, just two points behind their first place opponent, the Stars.

Not only did the Blues defeat Dallas, they exceeded all expectations and blew the team out 6-1.Though their Western Conference Final opponents are still unknown, with the Nashville Predators and the San Jose Sharks going to a game 7 of their own, the Blues seem ready for whatever lies ahead for them. Forward Vladimir Tarasenko leads the team with seven playoff goals and center Robby Fabbri leads the team with 10 playoff assists; the two also are tied for the most points (13) on the team in the playoffs so far.

In the past, the Blues have always come close enough to get their feet into the playoff pool but haven’t had much success getting any further. This year there is a completely new team entering the Western Finals; the Blues seem ready to take on whatever team they come face to face with.

The Blues will face either the Predators or the Sharks come this Sunday, May 15th. This season, the Blues defeated the Predators two out of three times, once in OT, and defeated the Sharks one out of three games, though regular season games have no indication of what the Blues will bring to the table in the third round.

Regardless, the Blues seem ready. They have been effectively using their speed and size to top their opponents, and so far it has been working excellently for them. No matter which team the Blues end up facing in round three, it will be an exciting and fast-paced game.

Round three will take place on Sunday, May 15, at 7 p.m. on NBCSN,
