Tomorrow is the big day for football fans! The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks are set to face off in Super Bowl 49. The defending champions are ready to bring the title back to Seattle, however Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are up for the challenge to stop them.
The Seahawks are normally known for being very vocal, but unfortunately they have been overshadowed by the 24/7 coverage of “deflate gate”. Actually, the Seahawks have been getting attention for not speaking to the media. Marshawn Lynch’s line at media “I’m here so I won’t get fined” has become legendary. However, none of that is important and what actually does is what they do best, play football.
This team got off to one of the ugliest starts in the NFC Championship game, getting behind the Packers 16-0, but they never gave up and that is what makes this team so good. They never lost confidence and never stopped believing in one another. They came back to tie the game in the fourth quarter and went on to win in overtime sending them to their second straight Super Bowl. Right now, this team has everything going their way. Marshawn Lynch is running the best he ever has and the Legion of Boom is still as strong as last year. While Rob Gronkowski may create mismatches for other teams, the Seahawks linebackers and defensive backs will likely be able to keep him in check.
Tom Brady is headed to his sixth Super Bowl, a record for quarterbacks. He is looking for his fifth title after losing in his last two appearances to Eli Manning and the New York Giants. After many critics said it was time for him to hang it up at the beginning of the season, he went on a tear and led the Patriots to the number one seed in the AFC.
They breezed past the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship, but not without an incredible amount of controversy. The team vehemently denies any involvement in deflate gate and received no punishment from the league as of today. The team could face hefty wins and possible loss of draft picks. If any team could overcome these distractions it is the New England Patriots. Coached by Bill Belichick, this team is one of the most disciplined in the league and it is an unselfish team that cares more about making the play than who makes it.
