There’s no denying it, the New York Islanders have been a top-notch team all season, but some people just don’t understand that there is a very fine line between actually disliking a team and it’s members, and wanting to actually cause harm, whether it is physical, or verbal, towards a team and it’s members.
So why does anybody think that it’s okay to put out an athlete’s personal information, regardless of how much you dislike them? Or better yet, why is it okay to make a public threat against them?
Recent reports have been made that a now-suspended Twitter account recently posted pictures of New York Islanders Nick Leddy’s personal information, including his Minnesota driver’s license, and one of his credit cards. But not only did they do that, they also made violent, personal threats against the Islanders athlete. The account reportedly also posted harrassing photos of Leddy and teammates in the past months.
Thankfully, according to Islanders spokesman Kimber Auerbach, Leddy and his family are safe, and the National Hockey League has been informed and alerted regarding the situation.
