It has been a hard fall from grace for golf superstar Tiger Woods. His golf career has turned embarrassing after multiple injuries and poor performances. His personal life seemed to get a bit quieter after is huge cheating scandal with ex-wife Elin Nordegen. Unfortunately, he can now add a really, really embarrassing mugshot arrest to his recent bad life decisions.
Earlier today, Woods was arrested on suspicion on DUI in Jupiter, FL. After being booked at the local precinct, he was released on his now recognizance. Woods is in Florida rehabbing a back injury that he says he has been dealing with for years. He has not played in four months and will not return for the remainder of the season.
After the arrest, Woods released a statement saying that it was not alcohol to blame, but a bad reaction to his prescription pills. He went on to say,
I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions. I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly. I would like to apologize with all my heart to my family, friends and the fans. I expect more from myself too. I will do everything in my power to ensure this never happens again. I fully cooperated with law enforcement, and I would like to personally thank the representatives of the Jupiter Police Department and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office for their professionalism.
Unfortunately, it will be pretty hard for him to live down his mugshot which has already become a meme in a matter of hours. It is looking more and more bleak for Woods to make a return to the top of the golf world. It seems like a lifetime ago that he was once atop the golf world.
