What was supposed to be an exciting day for Georgia football turned into one of the worst days this season. Star running back Todd Gurley was making his return back to the field after missing the previous four games due to a suspension for allegedly getting paid to autograph his merchandise.
Unfortunately,it was all ruined in the fourth quarter when Gurley suffered a left leg injury. While carrying the ball, he went down before being hit. He was taken out of the game and received medical attention on the sidelines. An MRI confirmed it was a torn ACL for the Heisman candidate.
Gurley is now, unfortunately, in a tough situations. He was expected to be a top draft pick in this year’s draft which gives him two options. He can still enter the draft and likely be taken much, much later than he would if he was healthy or he can stay at Georgia and continue to get stronger during his senior year and enter next year’s draft.
