Tom Brady is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time period. He proved it last season when he was given sub-par receivers and still took the Patriots to the AFC Championship game. Despite his ability to make receivers like Julian Edelman and Kenbrell Thompkins look like Jerry Rice and Randy Moss, he maybe getting a big boost at receiver, at least if you believe the rumor mill.
Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson has recently spoken out about his frustrations with his team and the direction they are headed. The eleven-year veteran is one of the best in the league, but he knows his window to win a Super Bowl is slowly but surely closing. The Texans still do not have a franchise quarterback and clearly are not looking to compete next season.
It sure sounds like Johnson could be a very happy man in New England. He would have one of the best quarterbacks throwing to him and the Patriots would get a big time receiver, especially with tight end Rob Gronkowski recovering from ACL surgery. Will this happen? It seems unlikely as the Patriots do not spend big money on receivers and Johnson’s salary is expected to take a $15 million cap hit. While it might be nice to dream about Brady throwing to Johnson, it seems unlikely it will really happen.
