While Peyton Manning’s doing commercials for Papa John’s and Rob Gronkowski’s claiming that he lives off his endorses, it looks like Tony Romo is finally joining in.
Romo just signed a deal with Under Armour, one of his first since 2013. He had a deal with Starter before he started wearing Nike cleats that he painted over. His deal marks the third quarterback Under Armour has under their contract, the first two being Tom Brady and Cam Newton. In a press conference, Romo discussed his deal with Under Armour, saying “I think they have a lot of great people. They obviously have a bright future. They’ve taken off recently. I think it’s a no-brainer. They’re young, they’re aggressive, they’re the same things you want to be as a player. I’m excited to be a part of the group.” Right now, Under Armour has not released any specific details on the deal, besides the fact that Tony Romo is part of it.
After not having many endorsements in the past few years, Romo is really starting to catch up. While Under Armour seems to be the biggest headline, another big deal occurred earlier this year when Romo appeared in a Pizza Hut Super bowl commercial, mocking the infamous catch. This offseason, he also signed a deal with DIRECTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket which has already started airing commercials, featuring an Arts & Crafty Tony Romo. Along with Romo, DIRECTV has picked up Peyton and Eli Manning along with Andrew Luck.
A new twitter user, Romo has taken to Twitter to share his thoughts on his DIRECTV persona along with the commercial.
