What does Eli Manning have to do to get a little respect around the NFL? The man has won two Super Bowl titles in five years, winning MVP both times. He has proven to be one of the most clutch quarterbacks in the fourth quarter when he took the record for most 4th quarterback touchdowns away from older brother Peyton Manning and still no one can give the man the credit he deserves. The New York media would rather talk to the other two quarterbacks on the Jets instead of the Super Bowl MVP. So it was only natural that soon his former teammates would turn on his too? NO. That is unacceptable Amani Toomer who made this statement, “Tony Romo is probably — if you look at him statistically — he’s probably the best quarterback in the NFC East. I mean, you look at Eli Manning and what he does in the fourth quarter. But you talk about consistency — talk about 31 touchdowns and only 10 interceptions. That guy can play.” How can you possibly say that about Manning who not only have earned the respect, but has never complained about being underrated. When did Romo put his struggling team on his back and lead them all the way to the title? Oh yeah that would be never. How many times has Eli done it? That would be twice, as in two more times than Romo has done it. I get he wanted to compliment Romo but do not do it at Eli’s expense who is a proven champion. In case everyone forgot how good Eli was last year please see the evidence below….
