It is the one thing in sports nobody ever expected to see. Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu has finally decided to chop off his long hair. It is not just for looks either; instead Polamalu will be cutting his hair for charity. In support of the veterans in this country, Polamalu will have a ceremonial haircut on Veteran’s Day. He has always had long hair as a symbol of his Samoan heritage. Troy shared his decision with his fans on his Facebook page.
He also included a video explaining the charity and what it stands for. What a great cause for an athlete with his platform to get involved in. Some think athletes are heroes, but it is our veterans who are the true heroes in this world. To get more information about how you can get involved in this noble cause, click here: VFW Mane Event
