People have been speculating that the Philadelphia Eagles and Michael Vick era are officially over. Meaning the Chip Kelly and Nick Foles era has started, but where does that leave Michael Vick? Well, it sounds like some people predict him to be in the Big Apple. Does that mean Eli got traded? Get outta here, I mean as Mark Sanchez’s “backup”.
Here is the main problem. We have seen the New York Jets version of having a big named backup quarterback. The only reason Vick should even entertain this idea is if he wants his comeback career to end almost as badly as it did the first time. Vick was lucky enough to find a team that was willing to take a chance on him after he was released from prison. By going to the Jets, it would only ruin all the progress he has made. People may never forgive him for what he did, but he was accepted by the Philadelphia fan base, which is not an easy place to fit in.
I think the best place for Vick would be Arizona. The Cardinals are coming off an awful and Vick had an even worse year in Philadelphia. Vick’s year was ruined by injuries caused by an offensive line not protecting him… ever. In Arizona it could be a fresh start all across the board. Bruce Arians is the head coach and he had major success with the Indianapolis Colts as a temporary head coach when Chuck Pagano fell ill. He helped turn a 2-14 team into a playoff team in that time.
Another incentive for Vick to want to go there is wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Proven to be one of the elite receivers in the game, Fitzgerald has been cursed with poor quarterback play that has not allowed him to reach the milestones other receivers have gotten to, such as Calvin Johnson. Vick has a great arm and that duo can be something special.
