New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz is saying that he is talking to networks about a reality show. Cruz told the New York Daily News, “It is going to be something that is very unique to me and very unique to what I like, and like to do. “We are still fielding some requests, so we will see how it goes — the timing has to be right . . .”. Cruz has become a fan favorite in New York with his famous salsa dance touchdown celebration. He admits that he would not make it a show about a wedding to his fiance Elaina Watley, a la Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian. He was open to the possibility of making it about training for the Super Bowl in New York.
No Victor, don’t do it to yourself! We have seen many athletes try this and completely destroy their professional careers. While I am all for Cruz making money and exploring other options, right now is the worst possible timing. He is in a very public contract dispute and this would only make it harder for the Giants to keep their star receiver. Victor, here is my advice, worry about football and getting a long contract and keep your personal life, personal. Maybe once your career is over you can go into the reality television market, but right now it would be career suicide.
