Adrian Peterson has had a rough couple of months. Going into the 2014-15 season, Peterson was largely considered one of the best players in the league and the face of the Minnesota Vikings. Instead, Peterson was arrested on child abuse charges and placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List the second week of the season. It was unclear after that what his future was with the Vikings. The team clearly wants their best player back, but he might not feel the same anymore.
According to Ian Rappoport, Peterson feels the team cost him a lot of money. Peterson feels he missed out on endorsements last season and blames the team, even though the team had nothing to do with his arrest. Things have gotten so bad that Peterson’s agent Ben Dogra and Vikings vice president of football operations Rob Brzezinski were seen in public having a heated argument.
There are reports swirling that Peterson told the Vikings he wants to be traded to the Dallas Cowboys. A report Jerry Jones has to be salivating over! This is still just a rumor as everyone involved says Peterson made no such request. Head coaches are still unable to communicate with the running back until after April 15th when he is taken off the Exempt list.
Peterson’s father, Nelson Peterson, said his son wants to stay in Minnesota. “He is open to returning to the Vikings,” Nelson Peterson told the Pioneer Press Monday. “He hasn’t closed the door on saying, ‘I won’t play for the Vikings.’ He hasn’t demanded a trade.” There is still a lot of hurt feelings and pride standing in the way of what the truth is of where he will play next season.
