Von Miller’s legal woes may have come to an end today after appearing in court today and pleading to traffic violations. Originally, Miller’s attorney asked the judge on Friday if Miller could waive his right to appear to which Magistrate Christina Apostoli said no. The linebacker was scheduled to be in court at 10:30 AM, but did not appear until 12:15. Magistrate Apostoli was not too pleased. “The court finds it rather ridiculous he doesn’t appear this morning and he’s mere blocks away. That’s what’s made a spectacle of these issues,” Apostoli said.
Miller pled guilty to three charges of speeding and driving under restraint. He was sentenced to 24 hours of community service and a level-one driving course. Miller made headlines this summer after getting arrested for having a bench warrant. He was charged for driving without a license. He has one final hearing in January, but he does not have to appear in court for that one. Miller was suspended for the first six games of the season for trying to cheat a drug screening test. Since being back for two games, he has played at a high level and more importantly stayed out of trouble.
