After beating the Grizzlies 100-99 Saturday night, the Warriors are only two wins away from beating the Chicago Bulls’ record for single season wins (72). Since the NBA started in 1956, only two teams have reached 70 wins: the 95-96 Bulls and the 2015-2016 Warriors.
The reigning NBA champions will face the San Antonio Spurs Sunday in San Antonio, a team they have lost 33 straight games to at home. San Antonio is also the same team that set the record for longest undefeated streak at home in a season with 39 wins, also previously held by the 1995-96 Bulls. If they beat the Warriors, they will be one win away from an undefeated season at home. They would be the first team in NBA history to do so.
If the Warriors beat the Spurs, their quest for 73 wins will come to an end when they face the Grizzlies again next Wednesday.
