The Golden State Warriors won their 73rd regular-season game Wednesday at home, defeating the Memphis Grizzlies 125-104, finishing the season with just nine losses. The reigning NBA champions now hold the record for most regular season wins, beating the previous record (72), held by the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls. That’s not the only record this team holds. The Warriors also are the first to go an entire season without losing back-to-back games or losing to the same team twice. They’ve made 1,057 3’s this season, while no other team has ever made more than 950.
Even though the win is a historic moment, the Warriors are already looking ahead to win the championship. “It keeps us focused down the stretch,” said Steph Curry. “We don’t have any room for error.” Golden State starts their championship run with they host the Houston Rockets in the first round of the NBA playoffs this weekend.
