It is like the perfect sports couple. Samantha Steele, who covers college basketball and football for ESPN, is dating Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder. She is being built up as the next Erin Andrew, in fact she is in line to take over Erin’s old reporter job for College GameDay.
Ponder has been the more vocal one about the relationship. He has confirmed the relationship via Twitter after getting annoyed by the constant questioning. Ponder even said he was “impressed” with himself for landing a girl like her.
Steele, on the other hand, only had this message for fans wondering what is going on. Steele tweeted this, “S/O to all the grown men critiquing my wardrobe/relationship choices. If it werent for y’all, I might’ve forgotten how awesome JR High was ;).” So the rumors and speculation are over and this pair is in fact dating. It must be bringing good luck as the Vikings are now 5-2, no Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo curse here.
