Only four teams remain in the quest for the Lombardi trophy. Andrew Luck and the Colts travel to Foxborough to dethrone Tom Brady and the New England Patriots while Aaron Rodgers and the Packers travel to Seattle for revenge against the Seahawks.
There is a lot of rain in Seattle’s forecast today which means this game could come down to Marshawn Lynch vs. Eddie Lacy. Defenses have struggled all season trying to tackle both of these backs. With Aaron Rodgers at less than 100 percent health, that fearsome Seattle defensive line has to be smiling. During their week one matchup, it was Seattle who got the best of the Packers. Rodgers did not throw once to a receiver being covered by Richard Sherman which will likely have to change if they want to get a passing game going. Last time, Sherman did not cover Jordy Nelson, but I expect that to change as he has become Rodgers’ favorite target.
Andrew Luck already beat Peyton Manning last week and if he can take down Tom Brady, an unofficial passing of the torch can occur. Brady, however, will not be an easy foe as he has beat Luck every time he has come to Foxborough. Last year, Luck threw four interceptions against the Patriots defense. Bill Bellichick will likely have a similar game plan for this game, forcing Luck into rushed throws and hoping for mistakes. Running back Trent Richardson did not travel with the Colts and the running game will be controlled by Daniel “Boom” Herron.
