The Kentucky Wildcats mens basketball has been dominating all season.  All of their starters appear ready to play in the NBA, despite most of them still being teenagers.  Many are ready to call John Calipari’s group the greatest college team ever assembled. For more information you ca look into NCAA Basketball odds at SportBet.com.

Calipari is one of the biggest names in college basketball.  Mostly, he is known for his players doing their one year mandatory season in college at Kentucky and then entering the draft.  It works out favorably for everyone involved as Kentucky is always a team to watch in the tournament.  Some of the biggest names in the NBA, including Anthony Davis, Demarcus Cousins, John Wall, have played for Calipari.  Clearly, the guy has some coaching ability on top of his incredible recruiting ability.

For this year’s Wildcats team, he assembled players all above six feet, most may even be pushing seven feet.  Something that no other team can possibly compete with.  However, no team has gone undefeated through the season and the tournament since Indiana did it in 1975.  Kentucky has had some scares along the way, including going to double overtime against Texas A&M, a team not really known for its basketball team.

Kentucky still has to play Florida twice which could be their biggest test before the tournament.  Calipari has been using a platoon system all season due to the depth of this team.  So far, everyone involved seems happy with the system; mostly because every game has been a blowout victory.  However, that is not how things will happen in the tournament. Games will be much closer and pressure will be much greater.

So do I think Kentucky will remain undefeated?  No.  I think the Gators will sneak a win against the Wildcats at home.  I also believe the platoon system will fail in the tournament setting.  Not having a core grow of players with defined rules can come back to bite Calipari and the Wildcats.
