Remember when people were referring to the 2017 New York Yankees as the “Baby Bombers”?  Well they grew up an deserve the title of “Bronx Bombers”.  After missing the World Series by just one game, the team put the entire American League on notice that they are not done.  Early this morning, baseball insider Jon Heyman announced that the team had a deal in place with the Miami Marlins for slugger Giancarlo Stanton.

Stanton has been in trade talks for quite some time now with multiple teams including the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals.  However, it was the attraction of playing for a team that will definitely compete for the next few season as well as the bright lights of New York City that swayed Stanton to agree to the trade.  In his contract with the Marlins, Stanton had a no-trade clause put in so that he could be in control of where he went.  He had previously told the Giants and Cardinals that he would not waive it for either team.

The trade some Yankees fans thanking one of their own, Derek Jeter.  Jeter, who is synonymous with coming in clutch for the Bronx Bombers, recently acquired the Marlins when former owner Jeffrey Loria sold the team to his investment group.  The former Yankee captain seems to be helping his team reach the promise land once again!
