The New York Yankees are focusing on their big Wild Card game against the Houston Astros this week, however, one of their members has much more going on in their life. Former ace pitcher CC Sabathia has announced that he has checked into treatment for alcohol addiction. He will not play in the playoffs if the Yankees do advance. Sabbath released a statement explaining his decision to do this now.

It is good to hear that Sabbathia has decided to do what is best for him and his family. It must be incredibly humbling to leave your team before they head into the postseason. We all hope that you get better CC and we look forward to seeing you back on the mound next season!
