The New York Yankees sit back on top of the standings and they are doing it without Derek Jeter, Mark Teixeira, Alex Rodriguez, and Curtis Granderson. It is quite impressive that this team has been as resilient as it has been and even more impressive that they sit ten games above .500. However, we should not be that surprised considering how good the Yankees pitching, starting and bullpen, have been. Mariano Rivera has looked twenty years younger this year. That is what makes tonight’s game so exciting as Yankees ace CC Sabathia and King Felix Hernandez face off. Sabathia has struggles at times this year with a 4-3 record. Hernandez is 4-1 with a 1.13 ERA at Yankee Stadium which is extremely impressive in a park that loves giving up home runs. A big boost could be on its way for the Yankees as Curtis Granderson could be available tonight
This should be a great game to watch as Felix looks to dominant the Yankees once again. If Hernandez pitches like King Felix we could be on no hit watch. CC has struggles with his command and velocity and while the Mariners lineup is nothing that blows you away, if they can get one run that could be all Hernandez needs. Yankees or Mariners- who you takin?
